Here we have competitor Molly, Age 32, Albuquerque, NM
Athletic background? Grew up competing at equestrian events, also ran track and x-country. Now, I am a serious rock climber and compete on a professional circuit.
How long obstacle course training? A little over a year
Why obstacle training? I originally wanted to use it as cross-training for climbing. I am not a very explosive or dynamic climber, so I wanted to improve that as well as my coordination.
Why compete? Motivation? I love setting goals. By planning to compete, I set goals for myself and then train to meet them.
Favorite obstacle? Least favorite obstacle?
Favorite: Anything with grip strength (cliff –hanger)
Least Favorite: Salmon Ladder
Personal interests (movies, hobbies, music, books, charities, etc.)? I love being a mom to my 2 year old! I am an English teacher and I LOVE my job. I also love riding my horse and teaching horse riding lessons.
Something interesting about you? I LOVE riding mechanical bulls.
Motto or how you live your life? Take advantage of every moment and keep reaching toward your goal. Don’t let age or life circumstances dictate your goals.
Piece of advice for obstacle course training. Laches are the key to everything! Perfect them.
