Here we have competitor Patrick, age 39, Schaumberg, IL
Athletic background? High school Varsity swimming, high school Varsity water polo, Obstacle Course Racing athlete since 2010.
How long obstacle course training? I have been Obstacle Course Racing since 2013 and Ninja Warrior since 2014.
Why obstacle training? The friendships and community around Obstacle Course Racing and Ninja Warrior are amazing.
Why compete? Motivation? I’m a competitor by nature. I’m a twin which means I’m always in competition with my brother. I get motivated teaching kids ninja classes at Chicago Ninja Academy. When a kid fails or succeeds on an obstacle you see the true joy of what comes out of these sports.
Favorite obstacle? Least favorite obstacle? My favorite obstacle is the bar lache to globe grips and the salmon ladder. Least favorite is any balance obstacle and the slackline.
Personal interests (movies, hobbies, music, books, charities, etc.)? American Ninja Warrior; skydiving; wind tunnel flying; Adele; N.W.A.; Carrie Underwood; 2 Chains; Star Wars and Netflix.
Something interesting about you? I’m an identical twin. I built a salmon ladder off my son’s backyard playset.
Motto or how you live your life? No regrets and cherish your family. Stop being selfish and make your wife your #1 priority.
Piece of advice for obstacle course training? Don’t be in such a hurry and think before every obstacle. Never look ahead on the course, you can’t run the warped wall if you fail on quintuple steps.

I love being one of the oldest ninja’s at Chicago Ninja Academy, it feels good knowing that I can still hang with the youngsters.
