Here we have competitor Patrick, age 23, from Pittsfield, ME.
Athletic background? Personal Trainer at World Gym in Portland. I train daily using calisthenics workouts. I also lift weights but mostly focus on gymnastic style movements. I’m a Certified Athletic Trainer. I went to college at the University of Maine in Orono.
How long obstacle course training? I’ve always been very active my whole life. I’ve only recently gotten into obstacle course training.
Why obstacle training? Why compete? Motivation? I strive to constantly motivate myself and other people through fitness. I have a passion for creating YouTube videos. This is my most recent video I created… http://youtu.be/z8z2GnmFvgM
Favorite obstacle? Least favorite obstacle? My favorite obstacle is the warped wall. Least favorite is balance beams.
Personal interests (movies, hobbies, music, books, charities, etc.)? I went to MCI high school. I played football, wrestling and track. Wrestling was my favorite sport.
Something interesting about you? I was a state champion my senior year. I intend on coaching a wrestling team in the near future. I believe that people can learn a lot about life through fitness. I think playing sports or training can be used as a tool to learn a lot about yourself.
Motto or how you live your life?
“Today I will do what you won’t, so tomorrow I will be able to do what you can’t.”
“If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breath, then you’ll be successful.”
Piece of advice for obstacle course training? Obstacle course training requires the body to be strong, agile and focused. The best way to train is to be as well rounded of an athlete as you possibly can be.
